About the Area
Costa Blanca translates as 'the White Coast' it is aptly named due to its wonderful miles of sandy white beaches, many of which have"blue flag status"
making them not only beautiful but SAFE!
It is very popular with Europeans and increasingly so with Americans, for various reasons; Firstly the renowned Spanish hospitality and its climate, it is an area which boasts over 300 days of sunshine every year and is recommended by the World Health Organisiation as the 2nd healthiest place to live in the world.
The beautiful landscapes made up of stunning beaches and secluded coves,
make the area very attractive. In addition to that the salt and mineral lakes, with nature parks, and the area being surrounded by orange and lemon groves, all with the backdrop of the mountains and wonderful old historic towns and villages make it a wonderful place to explore.

The area is renowned for its golf courses, having several well known golfing
venues in the area of "Villamartin", as well as smaller ones where non-members can enjoy a round. The area also boasts the famous "Mar Menor"& "La Manga"
There are many attractions in the area including water parks, scuba diving and jet ski-ing, as well as the theme parks of Benidorm -Terra Mitica,Terra Natura, Mundomar, Aqualandia...and a lovely safari park in Elche.
Local markets are a daily feature, selling local produce and many other handmade goods e.g leather. You will often be able to sample Paella, buy spit roast chickens, and relax to the pipe music of the Peruvian Indians in full costume.
The entertainment whether daytime or evening is endless..... should you want it!!
Many villages have their 'Fiestas' regularly, and with the large town of Torrevieja offering boat trips, a fairground, daily craft market, cinemas, bowling, go-carts, crazy golf and horse riding.
During the evenings there are also many things to do, from local bars offering quizes bingo, karaoke, singers and artists to Spanish Flamenco shows, Equestrian shows, niteclubs, sportsbars and of course the famous Benidorm Palace.
The Costa Blanca can also be a place of peace and tranquility where you can enjoy
a well deserved rest surrounded by beautiful scenic landscapes, steeped in history!
The area boasts many excellent restaurants ranging from the cheap and cheerful
chinese menu of the day for 5€, to Italian, Indian, Hungarian, not forgetting the wonderful Spanish cuisine.
Tapas are enjoyed all day by the locals, in small bars and cafes, who offer typical Spanish "menu del dia" for about 10€ incl. wine.
For those who prefer english food there are many restaurants serving english menus, & carvery as well as the major fast food chains such as KFC, McDonalds, Burgerking and Pizza express, something to suit everyone.
