The area where our Townhouse is situated is in the new exclusive urbanisation of El Raso, which is in Campo de Guardamar, on the lemon grove road, going towards the main N332.
This is a beautiful development set between orange and lemon groves, it has plenty to offer, as it is always developing with it services and amenities and more commercial centres are being opened everytime we go.
There are many great bars and restaurants in walking distance of our house great for evenings out with no driving. A selection of which i have mentioned here;
"Ask 31" an Indian restaurant offering lunchtime tapas 5€ wonderful value inc. a drink as well as a la carte meny which is a very good standard of indian cuisine.
There is a tradional take-away - "The Pantry" for a taste of home offering favourites like...fish n chips, pies etc,
"Ricardos" open all day with a friendly family atmosphere, offering excellent food at reasonable prices and of course the all day english breakfast. They also offer a take away service, including home made pizzas.
"Chapters" another great bar/rest offering a good selction of home cooked food, including set menu of the day, aprox 7-8€.
"Rays bar" open all day and very popular, this modern bar/rest offers a wide ranging menu as well as menu of the day and snacks all day. There is also internet access, and pool tables as well as large screens for the sport, and they offer entertainment nights i.e. quiz night and free bingo which are very popular.
"Jennings" an Irish bar, open all day and offers a substantial menu incl. Irish specialities and sunday roasts, it also has all the main sporting events, pool table, and regular live entertainment, proves to be a very popular choice for our guests.
"Il Tramonto" A thriving and lively "tapas bar" also offering a menu including spanish food pizzas (which i think are the best) has become a very popular addition to the urbanisation, popular with all nationalities, featuring discos, karaoke, live entertainment incl. flamenco dancers and has a large outdoor space.
For something a little more special "Stan & Ollies" restaurant, offers an extensive menu, which is a little more pricey, but you certainly get what u pay for here, beautiful, quality, well presented food and excellent service, in lovely surroundings. see the notes in our guestbook...fantastic! it is advisable to book, they also do a sunday all inclu. lunch menu. many of our family/friends go back again and again.
In addition to this another special night out can be had at the new Argentinian restaurant "Chez Tango" also a high class restauarant offering excellent meats to choose from, and entertainment nights to offer the full night out experience.
A short stroll on the main road is "Castilla bar" a friendly open all day tradional bar often used by spanish on the main road, offering tapas daily andentertainment and a great variety of activities, ie karaoke, dancing lessons quiz, bingo and live entertainment throughout the week, and still an easy stroll home.
And guess what we have a night club too!!!! for those who wish to indulge.... "The Venue" this is a great place for either a couple with a special occasion, a family occasion or a group night out... they feature some of the best entertainment on the Costa Blanca... including some of the finest tribute bands, a good all evening experience including a 3 course meal for only 20€...details of whats on and tickets can be found at ricardos bar on el raso. And yet again its right on the doorstep a 15-20mins stroll home with no driving.
Thomas Green's the English supermarket offers fresh bread, english favourites, daily newspapers, etc and open every day.
There are also estate agents, bodega for your wine, hardware shop, vets and other comercials are currently opening all the time and 2 banks with cashpoints.
A very popular, huge Sunday Market is very close by, about 15 mins walk from the house where you can spend a day out, and enjoy local food, ie paella, bars with american indian music to enjoy as well as all produce and gifts you want as holiday souveniers and presents esp. popular are leather goods, shoes etc.A short drive away there are many more larger commercial centres, offering a variety of services.
The Euro Marina a few mins drive offers 2 great Italian rests. "Sinfona di Roma" which is beautiful and has some different entertainment including opera evenings, in a very tradional setting and lovely gardens.
The popular "222 Italian" very modern and reasonable, where close by you will also find the little don carlos bar and a very popular "Lo Maribu" with good food and entertainment combined with a very lively atmosphere.
Also if you venture into the town of Guardamar in the evenings, there are a vast array of bars, rests, and clubs.
Guardamar beach
The stunning beach of Guardamar is 2 km from the property, and a five minute drive, it offers miles of beautiful natural sandy beaches, and sand dunes and pine forests at the end, where there is also a large marina.
The beach which is a blue flag beach has a promenade with a few shops and bars along part of it, but is not a really commercial area, although often busy in summer with locals, it is great to visit on the evening and walk along the seafront
There are also 2 most beautiful parks one with forestry, fauna and sand dunes, and the other more family orientated with peacocks, wild birds and ducks, swans and terapins, and childrens play areas and its all provided by thye Guardamar council for free a lovely day out, often too there are fairground rides outside the park and a nightly craft market.
Quesada golf course is a five minute drive away, and the town of Cuidad Quesada, with again many shops bars and restaurants is well worth a visit, as is the near by towns of La Mata, La Marina, and Santa Pola, all a short drive away.
